Hello, my name is Karan Grover.
I am a software engineer with a focus on building reliable and large-scale distributed systems. Before coming to the United States and UW-Madison, I worked as a Software Engineer at Microsoft Research for more than three years where I worked on a wide variety of projects like developing a privacy-preserving ML Service using IntelSGX in collaboration with Azure Confidential Computing, building a blockchain protocol from scratch and developing a project management solution for one of India’s biggest Philanthropic Organization - Child Fund India. My focus at UW-Madison was on Distributed Systems, Databases and ML Systems. In the Summer of 2022, I interned at Meta(Facebook) as a part of their Inference Platform Team in the AI Infrastructure Group. My project was to develop an A/B Testing Framework for their new Inference Service. I was responsible for taking the project from design to production by working with different stakeholders to understand the engineering requirements and tradeoffs. For the last one year, I have been working as a Software Engineer at Fetch. At Fetch, I have been working on optimizing costs and improving efficiency across systems, including automating flagged receipt reviews with LLMs to reduce human agent load by 50% and save $15,000/month, driving $68,000/month in DynamoDB cost savings through workload analysis and TTL implementation, and leading the design and deployment of a multi-region rate-limiter service handling over 500 requests/second with sub-10 ms latency.contact
